Welp! Here we are with a new site (new being a relative term) with new petz critterz. This time we have wolf packz! I would like to operate this site similarly to how I operate the Clanz one. You get to see the development of the packz, who is leader, what their pupz grow up to do, who lives and who dies, etc. Then, if you want to start contributing, you get to suggest things!
Now, you may have noticed that the packz are not set up like the clanz at all! i wanted to follow a more realistic outlook on pack life. Each wolf gets a rank and the way ranks are determined are different depending on age and situation. For example, the lone wolves have a "Lone Wolf" rank which doesn't mean that they all stick together or hang out in one place. I means that should one of a higher rank come across a lower rank wolf then you know who is probably going to win any fights and who is going to submit to the leadership of the other in a temporary alliance.
Within the packz themselves, there are two kinds of ranks: Pack & Pup. Pack rank is applied to any wolf that has reached adulthood and received their true name. These can be juvenile adults who haven't decided to move out or not (in petz this is any pet that has not received its happiness certificate) or full adults who are solid members of the pack. Obviously, wolves in a pack with the rank 1 & 2 are the alpha male and female; there may or may not be a beta or omega in the pack. It depends on how well they all get along together.
Pup ranks are applied to pups from infant stage through puppyhood. These ranks only show how the puppy pecking order works and are not necessarily an indication of their future pack rank.
Now, you may have noticed me talking about "true" names. I liked the Erin Hunter idea that babies would get a simple, pup name having to do with instant impressions of the puppies. Once they have reached young adulthood, they get a name having to do with strength or appearance or personality. They are all simple nature names, but they mean more for the individual wolves. For example: In the RedwoodSand Pack, Redwood got his name from his alpha not only because of his ruddy color but because of his steady determination, like how the redwood continues to grow no matter storm or flood.
So far, I believe we have five packz. That's quite a few and there are several lone wolves that are running around with potential pack creating status. I'm already thinking at this point that I'm going to have to wipe out a pack, possibly incorporating the pups from the loser pack into the victor's. If anyone has a suggestion or a protest to this, please post about it in the comments below. If you have any other suggestions, also feel free. Thanks!
